Columbine Police Guidelines

Feb 12, 2007 - Summary of Recent Robberies in Town

Break-ins have occurred during weekdays on Homestead and on Ridge Trail in the past week.

In one case, the thieves entered through an unlocked door while the house was unoccupied for about 2.5 hours in the afternoon.

A dark blue or black, new or recently acquired, Jeep Cherokee has been seen in the neighborhood involved in suspicious activity.

In one case, smaller items that appear to have been easy to carry away were taken. Younger people may be involved in such a scenario.

In the other case, larger items were taken.

Please do the following:

  1. Be aware of what is going on in your area or on your street.
  2. Report suspicious activity to police dispatch (303-795-4711) or call Columbine Valley (303-795-1434).
  3. If it is an emergency, call 911 to report.
  4. Do not get personally involved. Let the police handle any situation. Run away from the situation and then, report it to the police.
  5. Keep in touch with your neighbors if they will be out of town for any period of time.
  6. Report to the police at their office number that you will be away from your home for any length of time or file a House Watch request on the web site at http://www.columbinevalley.org/house_watch.htm.
  7. Keep your doors locked and your garage door closed and locked at all times.

The Town is putting together a community e-mail list to be able to communicate information such as this more widely and more quickly. Please consider providing your e-mail address to the Town for this purpose.

Webmaster@bowmar.gov.

The Town will not send junk e-mail to you.

Also, the Town web site at www.bowmar.gov is up and operating with several different pages of information. Please consult the web site for general information or activities and other scheduled items in the future.
